Re: Word count and <$include>

Two bugs for the price of one! You're right, there's a separate bug here, which I'd missed because during my testing I got rid of the <$include> tags to find out what was going on. Sorry about that. The problem is that when incrementing the counts for each individual document, the code is checking w...

Re: Word count and <$include>

A-ha, there's a bug here, but it isn't actually related to the <$include> tag. It turns out that if you have "Include all text" selected, the "Exclude front/back matter" options are ignored. I have fixed this for the next update, but in the meantime you could tick "Only incl...

Re: Superscript issue on Compile issue

Hi, Currently the only thing you can do to fix this is to change the font size of superscript text to be the same as the text around it. Even better, though - just wait for the next free update to 3.x (which should be out very soon and is already overdue). The problem is that Word automatically shri...

Re: Word count and <$include>

Anything inserted using <$include> becomes part of the text it is inserted in, so you cannot exclude it from the word count if it's included in the main text.

All the best,

Re: $include loses images placed with $img

Could you please post a sample project showing the issue? I cannot reproduce it - <$img> tags should be replaced in documents included using <$include> and this is all working for me, so there must be another factor I'm missing.

Re: add link with underscores > epub replaces underscores with /

I cannot reproduce this. I've checked the code involved and there is a fix in there that avoids adding escape characters before underscores in links, so this shouldn't be happening. Here's what I tried: 1. Created a new blank project in Scrivener 3.0.3. 2. I added some text, then two empty lines. 3....

Re: Back Matter based on Compile Group

I think the manual explains this pretty well - this exact use case is described on pp571-2 and even has a screenshot showing the sort of structure I described above.

Re: Can't seem to convert to Docx File

There's nothing useful in the log, unfortunately, other than a bunch of system process stuff, so nothing to give a clue. FileConverter1_6 is the Java class that Scrivener uses to convert RTF to DOCX, so it sounds as though something is going wrong there. Is this happening with all projects or just o...

Re: Back Matter based on Compile Group

As I said in my original reply, the problem is that you are setting your front and back matter items to "Print", which is contained *inside* "Wings of Fire". Scrivener automatically swaps the front and back matter folder to match the name of the current Compile group if there is ...

Re: Back Matter based on Compile Group

I've tested and this is all working as expected my end. Make sure the back matter folder is set to "Back Matter" and not to a specific subfolder within it, perhaps?

Re: Footnotes not compiling to ODT format

Thanks. I've reproduced the issue and it seems to be down to a bug in the third-party converter we use which has been fixed in the updated version that will be embedded in 3.1.

All the best,

Re: Spellcheck oddity with the text: "straight and narrow"

Apple closed my bug report yesterday as a duplicate, so more developers have reported it. I have a partial fix for the next update which suppresses the red underline for grammatical suggestions (which works by overriding Apple's code and running a spell-check on words Apple wants to underline in iso...

Re: Increase/Decrease Indents keyboard shortcuts disabled in MacOS Mojave

These keys work fine for me on Mojave - could you have assigned them to anything else, or have any other apps installed that might be interfering? The way keyboard shortcuts work is that an app can definite them, as Scrivener does, but they can be interrupted if another foreground worker app gets in...

Re: Problem with KDP Print (replacement for createspace)

Would it be possible to provide me with your Scrivener project? You can zip it up and send it to Mac.support AT literatureandlatte.com marked for my attention. If the file size is large, you can always send us a download link (e.g. a Dropbox link). I've created a KDP account myself and tested out up...
