Re: Odd non-syncing behavior

Scrivener iOS and Dropbox are not acting like they has been over the past 1.5 years. I disagree. I use Scrivener on three different Mcs and two iPads (yrs, I know it sounds weird but there are reasons) and they have synced seamlessly since day one. The only minor glitch was the other day, after upd...

Re: iPad sync

On the Mac, in Finder, move your projects to the folder where your iPad is looking, and wait for the dropbox app on your Mac to upload the files to the server so you get the grren tick mark saying that everything is done. Now the projects will be found by your iPad. It’s as simple as that.

Re: iPad sync

Could you show the Dropbox folder where you have your Scrivener projects, so the path is visible, and then take a screenshot of the Dropbox setup screen in your iPad Scrivener, so we can see what it all looks like?

You work with very large papers... The 12.9” pro is rather exactly half that size. But then again, almost unlimited in virtual resizing in some apps, like iOS Scapple (if it only existed :( )

Re: Best principles for brainstorming highly ambiguous and complex project

I use Papers by 53 on my iPad, using my Apple pencil, instead of physical paper.

Re: Papers 3 citations working in Scrivener 3?

Shouldn’t the easiest way be to go back to Scrivener 2 until the thesis is done?

Re: Good software to manage your readings for a PhD

I remember having looked at Bookends earlier but at the time it couldn’t search Web of Science, Scopus or Science Direct. I checked now and it seems that Web of Science has been added but not the others. Maybe then it could be a reasonable alternative to Papers 3, which I am still very happily using...

Surely mrs Scrivener should have a free copy of Scrivener, so she can write down her experiences? :D

Re: iCloud Sync

On top of all that you have this little checkbox under iCloud in System Settings in MacOS: Screen Shot 2017-11-28 at 11.44.24.png If it is ticked like this, it means that some things you add on another Mac or on an iPad, won't show up on the other Mac because OS X thinks that you don't have space en...

Re: Cloud Storage

No, you have to use a cloud sevice that syncs files you have on a physical drive in your PC, and some of the cloud services are not recommended, like OneDrive and Google docs.

Re: Cloud Storage

With Dropbox installed on your PC, you simply save your project in a subfolder in the Dropbox folder.

Re: Feature Request - Dark / Night Mode

I frequently work in the evening or in low light environments and I find the brightness of the default Scrivener very jarring. Having read all the posts in this thread I think you are all missing the most obvious solution: Turn on the light! :) (... or go to bed) That way Scrivener won’t be perceiv...

Re: Latest release crashes on Dropbox sync

When I opened the updated Scrivener on my iPad Pro, tapping on a project only resulted in a spinning wheel. I then noticed that the sync icon (circular arrows) at the top right was red. I tapped on it, it asked me to relink Dropbox, I did so, it downloaded the files list, and everything was back to ...
