Bowie Drake Ioa Thanks Bye

I wove some oblique and some not-so-oblique references to David Bowie into The Twenty-Five Deeds of Hanson Drake . Much as I love people reading the book, it has all grown to be too much. I’m tuning out, turning off, and dropping out. Completely. Thanks to everyone who has helped me with Scrivener, ...

Re: Placeholders

I have given Scrivener access to my Contact app info. I don't see how Scrivener knows which card to use. In my case the contacts actually come from Google which macOS supports. When a user sets up their Mac, they ineluctably create a user account. macOS automatically creates an address card in Appl...

Re: Tweaking Lists

Either of these help? https://youtu.be/2dR7sfh0HMI https://youtu.be/bXSVygfkWOk Yes thanks. I missed that menu bar icon menu. Apparently there is no option in Scrivener like in Word to use the the right click menu to select "continue numbering". Oh well. Might be a good Scrivener future s...

Re: Compose view prevents macOS "Look Up" function

Check  > System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click > Look up & data detectors > Force Click with one finger / Tap with three fingers. Force Click doesn't work in Scrivener (as a 32-bit app), but three-finger tap should work (in composition mode) if set in system preferences.

Re: Scrivener Beta 3 now public

This is an answer earlier in this thread: kewms wrote: Scrivener 3.0 will use the 64-bit Apple libraries. This should improve stability and reliability -- Apple seems to be letting maintenance of the 32-bit stuff slip -- but it will impact backward compatibility. Katherine Translates to "only ...

Re: Compiling issues to PDF and Docx

Disappointed I must say, the program organizes the files wonderfully when I'm writing, but the compile is a total waste of time to even bother with, I hope the bugs get worked out to make it a usuable option - it seems it's good for writers who are sending manuscripts to agents, but for Indie write...

Re: Scrivener Beta 3 now public

No complaints here, though I am troubled that we must have the latest Mac OS to run Scrivener 3. That forces us to go along with Apple’s planned obsolescence, which forces upgrades to new, expensive hardware, just as in the bad old days of Microsoft dominance. Intriguing, especially as Scrivener 3 ...
