Re: Dark mode for macOS Mojave

Thanks Keith. Didn’t think to look at the blog.

Enjoying the iOS and macOS betas, obviously in parallel to current public version.

Mojave in dark mode is the ‘ducks’ and 12 does seem to bring some older kit back up to speed in performance as promised in the keynote.

Dark mode for macOS Mojave

First up, Scrivener works great in iOS12 and macOS Mojave betas. In use all appears stable, syncs continue to work etc. There has been one major problem with iOS, the Scrivener icon disappeared with the update and cannot be found. Open from the App Store works though Scrivener never appears on the r...

Re: Comparing Scrivener on 10.5 iPad Pro vs 12.9?

I have the 12.9. It’s a dream with Apple’s keyboard. In fact on a recent os trip I left the MacBook behind and worked exclusively on the iPad, including Scrivener and work communications.

Nontropo, The PaperPile site says "Your annotations are directly saved to the PDF and synced to Google Drive. Paperpile uses open standards to make sure you can read and edit your annotations with any other standards compliant program." (https://paperpile.com/features/pdf-annotator). It s...

Re: Handwriting recognition

i would be very surprised if there isn't some group in Apple that keeps various Newton libraries up-to-date. I've seen big software companies do stranger things with software variants and configurations that had never seen the light of day. While Apple may or may not have a future intention for han...

] Umm... last I checked, you are not a moderator. If you feel a thread needs to be reported, you may certainly do so. If you feel a topic has been done to death, you can also simply ignore it. Attacking someone who offers a serious suggestion on a topic of common interest is indeed out of line. Ple...

Re: API to enable plugins like Zotero

@Amcmo: That's well out of line. I posted a gentle suggestion, based on a decade of largely solo work on related technology. . Hardly out of line. While I understand anyone wanting to see a new feature (i’d Like Grammarly integration), once it has been discussed at length and an L&L response I ...

Re: API to enable plugins like Zotero

The whole Zotero thing has been done to death on a number of threads, and from what I can see consistently stated as outside os scope and resources by Keith and team.

Endless demanding, posturing and holding one’s breath until you go blue is unlikely to change that.

Re: Open text documents in external editor

Clearly Word works for you, so stay with it. Keith has always said he has no intention of making Scrivener into another Word. You can use Scrivener with Grammarly in a cut and paste - yes another step, yet given how vastly superior Scrivener is to Word for long form docs, a minor hassle IMHO. Also S...

Re: Simple Android app?

Haven’t seen anything about a beta being even on the horizon, though L&L can confirm. Be VERY careful about editing any files in the Scrivener folder, especially if you’re seeing weird formatting. You could totally screw your Scrivener project. If you want true Scrivener work on mobile, iOS is i...

You have entirely missed the point ... it's not about remembering what I have called characters, and had you properly read or contemplated what I wrote for even half a second, you'd know that ... it was about ( to repeat the bleeding obvious ) GA, While it may all be ‘bleeding obvious’ to you, not ...

Re: Save to/Backup to > Multiple locations at the same time

As previously answered, MacOS save function saves to one specific location you nominate the first time you save. You can do a manual save to a second location, though but much work remembering where everything is. As also previously answered, there are simple ways to achieve something similar to wha...

Re: Web Based Version

A web version has been discussed a number of times and Keith's response has always been, 'not planned'. It takes significant resources to provide web based software. The VERY LIBERAL L&L licence allows you to install on all your home systems, and Scricvenr works great with Dropbox, so I find tha...

Re: Gemini PDA: the second coming of the Psion 5?

I think you would have to assume any involvement by L&L to be a non-starter. They are totally focussed on developing V3 for Win on one team and maintaining/improving V3 MAC and V1 iOS on the other. If the Android version (potentially reasonable size market) is a year or more away due to commitme...
