Scrivener keeps corrupting back up files

Here is what is happening: I opened my project today and noticed that 'somehow' the content of a whole chapter has disappeared. The page is still there, but blank. 3,000+ words gone ... Not sure how it happened, perhaps it was when Scrivener crashed last week? The cat walked over the key board and d...

Re: Scrivener Affiliate Program

Sorry, me again ;-( I spend a considerable amount of time on the eseller page trying to find out how to make a link that goes to the trial pages for respectively the Windows and the Mac version with no joy. Experience shows that links that go directly to a free trial convert far better than links to...

Re: Scrivener Affiliate Program

The main problem, for me, is that I don't know if the visitor who will click my "tempting affiliate link" is on a Mac or on Windows, a student or not ect. Have you ever looked into http://www.idevdirect.com/? It is easy to use and you can set up links to where ever you want ;-) If you are ...

Re: How do you handle proof reading?

Thanks Amber, some good tips! I am more than happy to sponsor him his own copy of Scrivener when my next book approaches the proof reading stage, but he might be not enough technically minded to enjoy that challenge ;-) So perhaps the second method you described would be more feasible for us as I wr...

Another Newbie here - from Germany ;-)

Just a quick high, I am originally from Germany, but live now in the Czech Republic. I just published my first book on Amazon, a German non-fiction travel guide, but there are also some attempts on my computer to write a novel. Scrivener really saved my sanity when it came to formatting my book for ...

Re: Superhero novel, translated

Without seeing the original it is really difficult to know if the translation or the original text is the problem. I don't know Portuguese, but I do know Spanish very well and I always have problems finding the right expressions when translating it. The way language is used, what people are used to ...

How do you handle proof reading?

I wrote my first book in Neo Office, daft decision, I know, then send it for proof reading and editing to a friend, got it back, copied and pasted it into Scrivener (which I just had discovered) and then compiled it. My next book I will write from the start in Scrivener but not sure if there would b...
