Scapple Movement Mode

Is there a way to configure movement mode to be on all the time? If not, can I add it to the wish list? And while I'm on a roll with Please may I have . . can I ask for the ability to add notes behind a Scapple note? This would be like the notes you can add to a node in a mind map. I find that...

Re: New to iOS scrivener, so do i move all my projects to dropbox folder.

Hi: To answer your last point first. I use Scrivener on iOS and Mac every day and sync at least once a day. I've not lost any data or projects since I started using Scrivener on both platforms - sync conflicts yes, but that's my own fault :D I know from these forums that others have had some differe...

Re: Compile Switches Focus with Multiple Open Projects

Keith: Thanks for the feedback. Embarrassingly, I can't recreate the issue today - either from the compile button or the short cut. The only change from yesterday is that I shut down and restarted the Mac - which shouldn't have had any impact. Please disregard and I'll see about getting my eyes chec...

Compile Switches Focus with Multiple Open Projects

I'm running Scrivener 3.0.1 on a Mac Book Pro with High Sierra 10.13.2. I have two projects (A and B) open in separate windows. When I compile in Project A, or open compile to check something like the meta-data, and then complete, the focus switches to Project B. I can get back to Project A from the...

Re: question on scrivner

Hi John: This is very doable. There are two ways you can achieve it. Within your document when you get to the part where you want the screen play dialogue, press CTRL-4 (I think your profile noted you're on Windows. If it's Mac then it's CMD-8), and you'll turn on screenwriting mode, Hit it again to...

Re: .scriv file size limitations?

My main Scrivener project is over 400Mb and also synced with Dropbox. I have over 1500 individual files and images in the project with a lot of cross-referencing. The biggest challenge is space on Dropbox rather than any limitations with filesystems etc. I seem to recall someone on these forums ment...

Re: Using a single project file or multiple projects

That option exists as well. Can't believe I hadn't found it before. Highlight the text within your document and from the Edit menu select Add Link, select File and then enter the pathname of the Scrivener project, or other file you want to open. On Windows, I couldn't make the target open when the l...

Re: Using a single project file or multiple projects

You can create an External Reference in the Document References to link to another Scrivener Project. I've done this a lot in a similar way to what you're proposing. I see you're using both Mac and Windows. I also use both and sync between platforms using DropBox. The caveat here is that the externa...

Re: Problem and resolution linkage

Could you do this using the existing Scrivener link capability? I accept it's only one way (from Source to Destination) but I find it's not that much effort to manually define the reverse link from Destination to Source. I tend to specify the links in the Document Notes panel so I don't have odd lin...

Re: Custom icon for document template?

You should be able to right click on the icon in the template document and replace it with the icon of your choice. After that once you select the template document as the base for a new document the icon should move with it.

Have you looked at Aeon Timeline? It does what you're asking and provides integration and synchronization to Scrivener.

Re: Connecting Split Screen in Outliner

Hi Rob: Interesting you ask the question, as I've been looking for this and only discovered it myself yesterday. When you're in cork board or outline view there's an icon on the footer bar that when activated opens the selection in the other editor (It's a small square with a right pointing arrow). ...

Re: Scrivener 2.6.5 Svelte Icons

Reading the following: When you open an existing project, Scrivener tells you it needs to convert the project. It then makes a backup of the project (in the same folder) and completes the conversion. A converted file cannot be opened in a previous version of Scrivener (though you will still have you...
