Possible to Create "Quotes Macro?"

In writing fiction, it's such a pain to insert quote marks for dialogue. In Word, I used to have a macro that would insert quote marks at the cursor position, then move to the end of the sentence and insert quote marks again. Is that possible in Scrivener?

Re: Shortcut or Button for Edit / Transformations / Make Title Case

You are right. In Preferences, I shortened the path to just Make Lowercase and it worked the second time. Not sure what happened the first time. Probably operator error! Anyway, thanks for the help!!!

Re: Shortcut or Button for Edit / Transformations / Make Title Case

Thanks very much -- that worked. Interestingly, I had to use the entire path for Make Lowercase, but not for Title case. When I didn't do that I got a beep.

Re: Shortcut or Button for Edit / Transformations / Make Title Case

I have been able to create shortcut for Make Title Case, (Cmd Shift T) using the instructions in the Manual Appendix. However I've been unsuccessful thus far in creating a short cut for Make Lowercase. I've tried several keystroke combinations, but no success. I'm wondering if Scrivener for some rea...

Can't see total words in Manuscript

I have turned on Total Words in the Outline. However when I select the Manuscript folder in the Binder, I see the word totals of each SubFolder but not the total for the Manuscript itself. How can I see the total number of words in the manuscript?

Shortcut or Button for Edit / Transformations / Make Title Case

I have a great number of words that need to be converted to Title Case. (I'm using Dragon dictate, and one of my characters is named "Petty" which is a word, so Dragon types it as "petty.") Is there any way to speed up the process? I'd like to find a keystroke combination for Edi...

Re: Is it possible to "go to" the previously open document?

Okay - Problem solved: I had completely missed the Navigate / Editor / Forward|Backward in Document History !!!!
This is precisely what I was looking for and somehow forgot it existed. Thank you SO MUCH!

Re: Is it possible to "go to" the previously open document?

Ioa -

Are you suggesting that it's a good idea to split up a single work (say, a novel) into two Scrivener Projects, simply for the convenience of going back and forth? I don't know about that: it seems like an awkward workaround. What do others think of that idea?

Re: Is it possible to "go to" the previously open document?

Mark - unfortunately, recent Projects lists doesn't help my issue. I'm looking for "recently opened Documents" within a single project. Thanks for the reply, anyway.

Is it possible to "go to" the previously open document?

Often, I am working in one document (of a novel manuscript) and I digress to create a note in another document. It would be useful in that case to have the ability to instantly tell Scrivener to open the previously open document. Is this possible? Similarly, upon opening Scrivener after shutdown, I ...

Re: Can't find my Character Sketch Template

Never mind, I didn't realize that the "Template Sheets" folder was actually in the Binder! Doh! (Smacking forehead several times.) It's easy as pie, once you see where it is! Problem solved. Thanks for the help !

Re: Can't find my Character Sketch Template

I'm simply trying to change the Character Sketch "template" if that's what it's called, so that when I press Add - Character Sketch, Scrivener 3 (Mac OS) inserts one that I have created. That's it.

Can't find my Character Sketch Template

I can't find the source folder for the document templates that Scrivener 3 uses. Is there someplace that I can find the path, or something I can search on (filename, etc.?) I'm stumped.

Re: Customize default inspector view

I, too, would like to be able to customize the Inspector Panel. What I would like to see is the Synopsis, Custom Metadata, and Keywords in one side panel, without having to click different icons to see the elements. (I have not started using Notes, Footnotes or Keywords so these are not important to...

Re: strange quote marks

I'm running into the same glitch using latest version of Dragon with Scrivener. It places the quotes properly but then doesn't capitalize the first word. Then, oddly, if you say "capitalize [text]" it capitalizes the first two letters! (e.g., [TExt] Not sure if it's Dragon or Scrivener or ...
