Re: Notebooks and...?

Currently there are only workarounds. I am using for reference/research/notes now pdf files which I save in Dropbox, I try to have overview on mac with DT by indexing them, I edit them on mac in preview and on Ipad with e.g. Notability. (For writing I had tried Notbooks but had issues with lack of g...

Re: suddenly trouble importing text

I am using Daedalus Touch (currently the most complete writing app on iPad, no other app currently can compete with it). Maybe the files are UTF-16? Would that be incompatible? Can they be converted? Also, when syncing (it is not really possible to sync because Scrivener does not permit custom folde...

folder names for ipad sync

Hello, so as a scrivener ipad version is far away, PLEASE make it more easy to sync text files. The BIG problem (not only in that context) are the non-unique folder names. I really cannot imagine it would be a big deal development-wise to let the user (who actually pays you) choose a folder name for...

suddenly trouble importing text

Hello, it used to work just fine, but now, when importing text files written on ipad and saved to dropbox, all I get is "ÿþ9" as text content. It works fine with another app and plain text editors on mac. Did scrivener introduce any restrictions to encoding, if so, what format is fine and ...

Re: Mac software for handwriting recognition?

@Ursula thanks for the encouragement, I will try ReadIris, I found their presentation of the mac software so unconvincing that I gave up before actually testing. My application would be just transcribing my own notes, I am using Norwegian, German, and English. I do have DT and my experience with ABB...

Re: Mac software for handwriting recognition?

well, they call it ICR and some do claim that language is relevant, not just character recognition, not sure why. I am just looking for software which can do that.

Mac software for handwriting recognition?

Hello, does anyone know of any such program that takes image files or pdf as input and works in different languages? Quality at level of Evermote would be more than sufficient (if only Evernote would return the recognized text...). I am happy with VisionObjects and am using it with different languag...

Re: synced folder names carry project name

oh do not be so harsh, that breakes my heart. I am a customer trying to use your software. What would be a developer without us? Maybe give in, implement that silly feature, it is no real pain, is it? implement it knowing it is nonsense, users are silly, really. but they pay you. I will post this wi...

Re: synced folder names carry project name

Yes. And what I say is this: give me unique folder names, thank you for understanding a user of your software. Unique in that they proudly carry their own beautiful individual name "project X draft" and not some inherited tags "son of a bitch/project x/ draft". It not only is mor...

Re: synced folder names carry project name

with sync I mean especially iPhone/iPad, and laptop. Unique folder name would help so much (when having several synced projects). I know already that unique folder names violate your phiolosophy, but please consider that other people might have other workflows and other preferences, I do not conside...

yeah, that is the default answer here.

my answer is: yes, think actual sync for example, where folder name matters, or smart folder, or...
