Re: Scrivener settings/preferences backup?

Ah crap. Let's see how much work it'll be to get all that back. I think I should be able to get those presets from my .scriv file. At least my compile settings seem to have survived. That's probably more important. Don't know if anybody else agrees, but maybe there should be a way to back up ALL set...

Re: Scrivener settings/preferences backup?

Hmm... not sure I did it right.

I saved all preferences the way Keith suggested, and loaded them now. But all my formatting presets are gone. Is there a way to save them?

Scrivener settings/preferences backup?

Good evening! Is there a way to back up all Scrivener settings/preferences? I'm about to format my MacBook and would like to make sure I don't lose all my settings that I've been fine-tuning over a year or so. Do I just copy the application itself? Or is there a way to back up and import everything ...

Re: Importing 11-page PDF into Scrivener document

Thanks! Now I need to finish the PDF and not think about the thesis for at least a few months. :) In case somebody has the same problems as me and stumbles upon this thread, this is what I found out: Haven't tried this yet, but it was suggested to me in the forum nicka recommended: Use .EPS instead ...

Re: Importing 11-page PDF into Scrivener document

Thanks nicka. My dissertation is under examination since last week. I had a perfectly formatted document thanks to Scrivener, Word, EndNote, Illustrator, Acrobat, and some manual labour. So luckily the problems I have are irrelevant to the result. But now I need a good PDF version to send ...

Re: Importing 11-page PDF into Scrivener document

@nicka or anybody else working with vector graphics: this only touches upon the original topic, but as the whole wide Internet can't answer my question I'm hoping somebody here may. After compiling with Scrivener to RTF, I opened the file with Word 2011 and saved it as DOCX and replaced all images w...

Was that feature maybe dropped? Or should I have that tick box somewhere?

Re: Avoid empty first lines after compile

Does that mean I can, then, use find and replace in Word to find that separator? Sounds good. But I don't seem to have the option in Scrivener:

Avoid empty first lines after compile

Not sure if this can be done in Scrivener or in Word or maybe in both or if it's possible at all. But after my compile I have a 327 page document and random pages throughout begin with an empty line (because the page break coincides with an empty line between paragraphs). Is there a way to not have ...

Re: Inconsistent behaviour regarding colons in title prefix

Thanks.
This probably won't help me anymore this time (I'm hoping to print and hand in by Friday), but if it's useful for others, then that's good.

Cheers!

Re: Inconsistent behaviour regarding colons in title prefix

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately, however, this probably won't work for me. If I do as you said, then all my prefixes are treated the same way. But I have different prefixes set for different levels and would like to keep this consistent throughout the document. I guess I'll have to do as I...

Inconsistent behaviour regarding colons in title prefix

I set this as the title prefix in my compile settings: "Chapter <$hn>:: "

I had to insert a double colon because otherwise there would be no colon in my Scrivener links (now there's one, as required). But chapter titles DO display the double colon.
